Triglycerdies
I find it very interesting to listen to people talk about how their traditional doctors are treating them. I am careful not to interject my opinions unless I am specifically asked for them. Recently I was at a memorial service, and at the luncheon which followed I was seated next to the husband of a friend of my mother's. He was telling me about his prior heart attack, the fact that he was on a statin, and that his triglycerides were still too high. What he and his doctor considered too high was near 200. Ideally we like to see triglycerides at 100 or less. So I took the opportunity to ask him about his diet. It appeared he was very diligently following his doctor prescribed low fat diet and avoiding meats, eggs, dairy etc. As an Italian he loved and ate a lot of pasta dishes. He also ate oatmeal and drank orange juice for breakfast every morning. He also exercised regularly on an eliptical machine.

Was he on the right diet? No he was not. If he had been, he wouldn't need the drugs and his triglycerides would be lower. He was eating what we at CMRS would call a Monkey diet which is high in complex and even simple (the orange juice) carbohydrates. I shocked him when I told him point blank that he'd be better off as far as his triglycerides are concerned to eat bacon and eggs for breakfast!

It's excess carbs that end up getting converted to triglycerides, so the pasta, the oatmeal, and the orange juice were all problems.

As a case example, I recently began treating a young woman whose triglycerdies were 938 when she came in, even though her cholesterol was only 211. I put her on an Otter diet (more protein and fat, and less carbs) and in two months triglycerides were down to 375, and after 6 months were down to 291. At the same time her cholesterol went DOWN to 183, her LDL DOWN to 82, and her HDL stayed stable at 33!

My advice is to get a qualified natural medicine doctor to take a look at your case history, no matter what's wrong with you, and get a different point of view. Chances are, it will pay off bigtime.
