SINUSITIS
Although physicians frequently continue to prescribe long term antibiotics for chronic sinusitis, they may be making things worse rather than better. The Mayo clinic reported in 1999 that they had found fungal growth in the nasal secretions of 96% of patients with chronic nasal and sinus complaints.

The presence of fungi in sensitive individuals means the immune system fights back through mechanisms that end up irritating the mucous membranes in the nose. Antibiotics tend to favor the growth of fungal organisms. Recently a kit for the intra-nasal administration of the well proven anti-fungal drug Amphotericin B (20cc of a 100mcg/ml solution) has become available, and positive results have been reported in 75% of these patients within a few months. If you have chronic nasal allergies, chronic sinus headaches, and/or chronic and recurrent sinusitis, see a physician familiar with this treatment for an evaluation.
